1. Waterproof – Do you need a product to be completely waterproof or is partially waterproof ok?
Window Shade Options

Overhead Shade Options

2. Area – What is the size and area that you need to cover?

Use this guide to narrow down the type of solution you need. To help you out here are some examples
Windows
If you have a large expanse of north facing window and need waterproof protection (eg: because of coastal storms), then you can join exterior venetian blinds to provide complete coverage. Or if a partially waterproof mesh fabric is preferred, you would select exterior vertical blinds or retractable awnings.
However, for skylight or conservatory windows you would select from our range of skylight blinds.
For west facing windows or French doors affected by the glare of low lying sun, consider a toga folding arm awning for partial waterproofing or aluminium shutters for full waterproofing.
Outdoor areas
For example, if you require overhead outdoor cover that is completely waterproof, for a medium sized area, then choose a retractable pergola system or architectural umbrella, depending on your budget. (Simply add PVC vertical blinds as ‘walls’ for complete outdoor room ambiance.)
If you prefer the flexibility of partial waterproofing, for any sized outdoor area, then we have folding arm awning to suit every budget.
Or, for very small overhead spaces, canopy awnings are your answer – and you can choose waterproof fabric if needed.
